Andrew was a three-sport standout during his GF Central career. In particular he made spectacular plays on the gridiron and the basketball court whether it was a two-point conversation reverse play to defeat Fargo South or a game-winning, buzzer-beating three pointer to defeat cross-town rival Red River. As a senior Andrew was co-offensive MVP on the football team along with being first-team All-State in both football and basketball. He was a key contributor to the 2005 State Championship football team and placed in both the Triple Jump and Long Jump at the state meet during his high school career. Between the three sports, Andrew earned 9 varsity athletic letters. Andrew went on to a successful football career at Bemidji State University where he played wide receiver.
Andrew says that he will “forever miss the competitions. From each sports practices to their games. I certainly will never forget the gym class/team sports games that ended too soon. We had a competitive group of individuals who hated to lose.” He is really glad that he played multiple sports. He only regrets that he didn’t have enough time in his day to be involved in more athletics because each sport brought unique challenges and friendships.
Andrew currently resides in Grand Forks where he serves as a loan officer for CHS. Andrew married his high school sweetheart Ariel from the ‘other school’, and they have three boys ages 4, 3 and 1. He is curious to see what kind of parent he becomes while sitting in the stands.
