“What sets GFC apart from other schools is the overall pride we have in our school. We are a very culturally and economically diverse student body and this pride we all share erases boundaries in a way that is unique to Grand Forks Central.” These words sum up the attitude of one of GFC’s most successful all-around athletes.
Casey excelled in football, basketball, and track. State championship competition seemed to be in his blood, as he played in football and basketball championship games, and set school records while winning individual state titles in track and field, including setting a school record that still stands in the discus. Casey received multiple all conference and all state awards in football and basketball, and was also a Shrine Bowl and Mon-Dak Badlands Bowl participant. He attended UND on a football scholarship where he enjoyed a standout career.
“I have many great memories of teachers and coaches at Grand Forks Central. It was an honor to know them and they had a great impact on me. Their influence reaches far beyond the playing field.”
Casey expressed that Grand Forks Central is a special place, and the place where he learned the value of hard work, and that there is no substitute for it.
