Drew excelled in all three sports he participated in at Grand Forks Central which is demonstrated by the fact that he was named all-state in all three sports as a senior. In football, Drew was first team all-state as a senior while helping the team make the playoffs as a sophomore and senior. In basketball, Drew led the team to the state tournament as a senior while also being named first team all-state. In track and field, Drew was a state champion in the triple jump as a senior and still holds the school record in both the high jump and triple jump. Having lettered ten times in high school in the three sports he competed is quite a feat.
Drew’s favorite memory of his time at GF Central was the basketball team beating West Fargo in double overtime to make it to the EDC championship game thus qualifying the team for the state tournament. Drew said what sets GF Central apart is that “Grand Forks Central High School has the longest and most well preserved history in the state. As athletes and students we take a lot of pride in that.”
Drew currently resides in Minot, ND where he teaches social studies on the Magic City Campus while also coaching freshmen basketball and coaching the jumpers in track and field. Drew and his wife, Tarra, have two daughters, Grace, age 6 and Brekka, age 1.
