Joe excelled in tennis at GFC becoming a National High School All-American. While at Central, he was the state singles runner-up as a freshman and was the state singles champion the next three years. Joe is the only boys champion in North Dakota to win the singles championship three times. As a senior (1987-88), Central was also team state champs. After high school Joe continued playing tennis at the University of Montana and University of Minnesota Duluth.

“What sets GFC apart is the support system of teammates, classmates, family, and friends.  Central is an amazing school and there is no better place to grow up than Grand Forks, North Dakota. Growing up in a truly wonderful community and then having the opportunity to be part of a team and win a team championship is something that I will always treasure.”

Joe currently lives in Fort Meyers, Florida and has been working as a certified tennis pro since relocating after the flood of 1997. He indicates that he is very fortunate that his mom, dad, and sister can share a few months each winter with him in southwest Florida. His time with parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that live in the area are truly a blessing. Joe will always treasure growing up in Grand Forks. “It will always be mine and my parents home and Riverside Park will always be my favorite neighborhood.”
